Positive Image, Inc. held its first annual Father/Daughter Dance at the Crowne Plaza in Brooklyn Center, on Sunday, February 10, 2013. The Father/Daughter Dance is a community-sponsored, formal, elegant and fun-filled evening held for girls, age five and over, and the special men in their lives.
The Father Daughter Dance focuses on the importance of fathers and their daughters having strong, healthy relationships. Research show that the first strong male bond girls have is with their father. The Father/Daughter Dance teaches young girls what it means to be treated with love and respect.
In 2013, the first year of the event, over 200 fathers and daughters participated. Positive Image, Inc. teams up with fathers from across our region to promote healthy father-daughter relationships with the hope of providing young girls with the guidance they need to become productive in our community. The purpose of the Father/Daughter Dance is to increase the number of fathers, young people and community members who value the importance of fathers and their daughters building and maintaining strong, healthy relationships.

Statistics show that a young girl will seek her father’s love first at home. If she doesn’t find it, she will seek it elsewhere. The objective is that fathers will continue to be positive role models and influencers of their daughters, and that daughters will have healthy relationships as teens and adults as a result.
